Užusaliai

From almost 10 years of caravan-life experience I have gathered that one can find wonderful spots to camp in nature as far as 50 km away from any big city’s limits (if city has such any limits).

But here in the heart of Lithuania, you can find such almost wild places as “Užusaliai” not as far ar 20 km from city of Kaunas itself.

This place is a marvel!

We have stayed here several times during 2026 summer season. Place is almost completely private, except several fisehrmen appearing in the bushes for a halfday.
This is also a very memorable and important place to us because staying in this wonderful wild open grassland we have experienced and understood that simple wild fields have their own “power”. To be more specific, we have experienced that wild fields are a place for so many birds and animals, for so much life!

This summer we have shared the wild fields of Užusaliai with dozens of spiecies of cuttest wild birds that fly around, run around, eat around and most of all – sing around. You couldn’t think of better environment in Heaven itself.

So this summer we had the best company of wild birds around us that showed us the true beauty of the wild fields. Ofcourse its only a small glimpse into the vastness of wildlife. But nevertheless, it was our wirst experience that help us build our opinion that we like wild open fields better that dark forests.
